We offer both automatic and manual (stick shift) training for those seeking a commercial Class A license.
A commercial Class A license, also referred to as a Class A CDL, is required to operate various commercial vehicles with a gross combination weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more. This is also necessary if you will be towing a trailer that is in excess of 10,000 pounds, although what your towing allowance is depends on any endorsements you obtain. While there are several different considerations involved, typically with a commercial Class A license, you will be able to drive a tractor-trailer, a truck and trailer combination, a tractor-trailer bus, tanker vehicle, livestock carrier, or flatbed truck. You might also qualify to drive some Class B and Class C vehicles with the correct endorsement in place.
If this all sounds confusing, don’t worry. At Sunny Truck Driving School, we’ve been helping people enter the world of truck driving since 1995. Our commercial truck driving school provides the training you need to obtain your commercial Class A license and be as safe a driver as possible. We can help you determine which type of license you’ll need, as well as any endorsements, for the type of truck you plan to drive.

There are two types of training programs that we offer for those seeking a commercial Class A license: automatic and manual. If you obtain your license for an automatic transmission truck, you will not be allowed to drive a manual transmission truck. However, if you go for the manual one, you will be qualified to drive either one. If you are unsure which you’ll be driving, it is recommended to go for the manual so you will be able to drive for any trucking company.
